Grade 4 Maths Worksheets: Multi-Digit Multiplication and Long Division
Updated November 7, 2026
In Grade 4, children move from times-table facts to multi-step calculations: multiplying larger numbers and dividing with remainders. Short, regular practice is more effective than long sessions.
Check the facts first
Multi-digit multiplication depends on quick recall of 0–10 times tables. If a child is slow on facts, spend a few minutes a day on fact drills before longer problems.
Show the steps
Encourage writing each step — partial products or the standard algorithm for multiplication, and divide–multiply–subtract–bring down for long division. Mistakes become easy to spot.
- Estimate first: 48 × 23 is roughly 50 × 20 = 1,000.
- Check division by multiplying back: quotient × divisor + remainder.
- Mark work together using the answer key and talk through errors.
About our workbook
Every answer in our Grade 4 workbook is generated together with the problem and then re-checked by an independent program before release. It includes US Letter and A4 versions.
